Weekend Scrambles
The Glencoe greats
A two day scrambling course in world famous Glen Coe. Classic routes on classic mountains away from the crowded tourist paths.
Course Outline
We will be walking and scrambling for 6-9 hours on each day. Some of the scrambling will be exposed and will include the use of a rope. Below is an example of a typical course, but this may be adapted according to weather conditions.
Day 1: Curved Ridge to Buchaille Etive Mohr
Depart Edinburgh 8.30 am for Glencoe. Curved Ridge is the classic and most favourite way to the summit of the Buchaille. It leads sensationally to the summit of one of Scotland ’s most beautiful mountains, taking in some exciting scrambling in amongst spectacular rock scenery.

Day 2: The Aonach Eagach
The Aonach Eagach is the narrowest ridge on mainland Scotland . It takes in the ascent of two munros, Meall Dearg and Sgur Nam Fionaidh. The day involves narrow ridge walking and scrambling, the traverse of two pinnacles and conveniently finishes at the most famous climbers’ pub in Scotland , the Clachaig Inn. It is often said of the Aonach Eagach that once you are on it, there is no way off until the very end! We return to Edinburgh in the evening.
