Trip Grading Guide
Grading of walking and hiking holidays is personal to each hiker, depending on experience and fitness levels. Most of our holidays have grades based on the hardest day of each tour.

We are always flexible with the itineraries and will often change due to weather conditions and client requirements.

Easy - Walks each day are between 5-7 hours, with mostly lower level walks with little ascent on well maintained trails. Distances will be mostly circa 6 miles (10km) but can be up to 10 miles/16km in good conditions.

Easy grade holidays in order of difficulty (easiest first)

Moderate - Walks each day are normally between 6-8 hours, with several days involving some mountain ascent in the order of 2000-3000ft and distances covered of between 4-9 miles (10-14km).

Moderate holidays in order of difficulty (easiest first):

Challenging - This may entail some walking away from well-maintained footpaths over rough ground, rocky sections and bog. Ascent/descent may be over 1000m/3000ft per day and distances covered may be around 10 miles (16km).
